ritual : a manifesto

ritual-; a fixed set of actions and words.rituals guide how we navigate life. they follow tradition, immerse us into culture, and cycle through universal actions.the ritual is a reflective way of creating theatrical art out of pastiche. there is the assumption that to be truly an artist, one must have originality. this is untrue; originality is nothing but a response to an existing concept. there is no need to be a designer, a theatremaker, etc. to craft a response to art - this is already something built into humanity. ritual removes the hierarchy of the designer and consumer, especially in a field as vast as experience design.this manifesto is a framework for the emerging designer to make reflective, collaborative, tangible work. you do not need to be an artist to make a ritual. all you need is the parts that have made up who you have become.
